Used to show that something is almost, but not completely, accurate or exact; roughly.
Example: Even though North America has only approximately 6% of the world's population, it boasts nearly 34% of the global wealth.
boast
verb
Talk with excessive pride and self-satisfaction about one's achievements, possessions, or abilities.
Example: North America has only approximately 6% of the world's population, it boasts nearly 34% of the global wealth.
concentrate
verb
Focus all one's attention on a particular object or activity.
Example: It can be seen that wealth is heavily concentrated in North America, Europe, and high income Asia-Pacific countries which together account for almost 90% of the global wealth.
considerably
adverb
By a notably large amount or to a notably large extent; greatly.
Example: The overall share of wealth owned by people in Africa, China, India, and other lower income countries in Asia is considerably less than their population share, sometimes by a factor of more than ten.
distribution
noun
The action of sharing something out among a number of recipients.
Example: The chart compares population shares in various regions of the world with the distribution of wealth in these same regions.
global

Relating to the whole world; worldwide.
Example: It can be seen that wealth is heavily concentrated in North America, Europe, and high income Asia-Pacific countries which together account for almost 90% of the global wealth.

To a great degree; in large amounts.
Example: It can be seen that wealth is heavily concentrated in North America, Europe, and high income Asia-Pacific countries which together account for almost 90% of the global wealth.

A rate, number, or amount in each hundred.
Example: China has the highest percentage of the global population (24%) but only 3% of the world's wealth.
striking
adjective
Attracting attention by reason of being unusual, extreme, or prominent.
Example: This is most striking in India, where 16% of the world's population own only 1% of the world's wealth.
wealth
noun
An abundance of valuable possessions or money.
Example: A similar situation can be seen in Europe, which has 15% of the global population but 30% of the global wealth.
